GERALD H. BAILEY

GERALD H. BAILEY  (Composer) has been involved in over 200 productions as an actor, director, musical director, and composer in several professional mid-West theatres. In addition to his work for the Festival (Hell Is Canceled and Meet Me On the Corner), Mr. Bailey has written the scores for Courting (Live Theatre), The Enchanted Island (Peripatetic Task Force), and The Legend of King Arthur (a commission for the Mill Run Theatre). He has also written All That Entertainment (Playhouse at the Mill Dinner Theatre), The Christmas Cookie Caper (Marshall Fields in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas), and Cheers! (Players Unlimited). Mr. Bailey has worked with various Chicago Writers’ Bloc members by providing songs for Judy Veramendi’s Alegrías y lágrimas (playing multiple theatres including the Raven Theatre), and writing a full score for Chloe Bolan’s Parasol, based on the infamous Eastland Maritime Disaster. His most recent musical, The Next Big Thing, played off-Broadway at the Helen Mills Theater featuring Tony Award nominee Christiane Noll. Mr. Bailey is a member of the Dramatists Guild.

A new musical drama based on a real-life event as depicted in Antonio Buero-Vallejo’s play, El Concierto de San Ovidio.
